Emergency First Aid (1 Day)




Description:    The aim of this course is to teach the participant how to be able to deal with different types of accidents and injuries in the workplace should they occur, and be able to administer proper First Aid to the casualty.

Duration:    1 Day

Certification:    ASL SAFETY CERTIFICATE

This course complies with current guide lines on First Aid.

It is advisable to wear loose clothing such as a tracksuit & runners as the course consists of many practical sessions. Training may be carried out in your own workplace subject to certain requirements or alternatively some other suitable venue can be arranged.

Overview:

This is a 1 Day course delivered by operational frontline paramedics.. This course is open to private and corporate students alike providing learners with skills that can be used in the home, in the workplace, in the sporting arena or anywhere that people require immediate life saving interventions.

  •  Bleeding
  •  Shock
  •  Unconsciousness
  •  Burns
  •  Choking
  •  Adult CPR  Bandaging

Course Modules:

  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) & Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use including Heart Attack / Stroke / Foreign Body Airway Obstruction
  • Medical Emergencies (e.g. Diabetes, Epilepsy, Asthma)
  • Trauma (Bleeding control,musculoskeletal injuries, sprains and strains)
  • Poisons and Allergic Reactions
  • Burns & Scalds

Assessment:

Students will be assessed on their application of life-saving and basic skills
