Forklift Counterbalance Experienced Training




This course is designed for experienced operators who are familiar with the steering characteristics of the lift truck and have the ability to manoeuvre both forward and reverse in a confined area. They should also be experienced in load handling functions. Certificates are awarded to participants at the end of the course, provided they achieve the required standard in the theoretical and practical tests.

Objectives
On completion of this course participants will be able to:    

  • Operate a fork lift truck safely, reducing the risk of injury to operators and pedestrians
  • Use safe operating habits
  • Explain the consequences of taking certain kinds of chances
  • Load and unload safely
  • Refuel/recharge fork lifts safely
  • Handle awkward loads
  • Introduction to course
  • Introduction to truck
  • Safe operating practices and safety video
  • Elementary driving
  • Explanation, demonstration and guided practice in the correct procedures to adopt when driving a fork lift truck


Who should attend?
Experienced operators who are familiar with the steering characteristics of the lift truck and have the ability to manoeuvre both forward and reverse in a confined area. They should be also be experienced in load handling functions.

Pre-course Requirements:
Operators must have at least one year`s recent experience operating a lift truck and/or hold a Forklift Operator`s Certificate which has expired.

Assessment/Certification:
Participants complete a theoretical and practical exam.
On successful completion of the exam participants are awarded a Forklift Operators Experienced Certificate/NORS/RTITB Accreditation

**Certificates are valid for three years and must be refreshed before that time is up**
