QQI Level 4 Door Security Procedures

Objective

All persons working as a door security officer in the republic of Ireland are legally required to hold a private security association (PSA) door security licence. To be eligible to apply for a door security licence you must complete the relevant training course. The Door Security Procedures Training Course required is a level 4 award from the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) The content of this course will allow each learner to gain the skills knowledge and attitude needed to successfully carry out, door security operations a safe and legal manner.

•     Risk Awareness
•     Arrest Techniques
•     Searching techniques
•     Drugs Awareness
•     Emergency Procedures
•     Communications & Reporting
•     Fire Safety Training
•     Practical Security Procedures and Techniques
•     Dealing with violence & conflict resolution

This course has several practical sessions including:

• Fire Extinguishers training
• Two-way radios.
• Use of CCTV systems.
• Searching techniques and various types of role-play

Course Duration

QQI level 4 courses are comprised of 100 hours learning. Of this, 30 hours is direct contact between the trainer and learner. The balance is allocated towards home study by the learner, four days direct contact between trainer and student over two weeks.
